What is the fuss about "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?" I'm curious, but not sure I want to try them.

I used to read thrillers, but haven't so much in recent years. A girl heroine sounds great, though I'm not sure about all the REALLY BAD THINGS adding to the story. THat was one thing that frustrated me about the new Battlestar Galactica series; they made a great, strong girl character, and then decided she had to have those same R.B.T. in her past to make her work. what, women can't be badass without that kind of history? Argh.

Thanks; I may have to check these books out after all.
